As tennis teachers, my husband and I traveled north for the summer and south for the winter, which left little time to pursue a career in art. After retiring from teaching we settled in Boynton Beach FL and went into the landscaping business which afforded me more time to paint, it was the beginning of my art career. I had the time to volunteer my artistic talents to the Delray Beach Community Theater. My very first backdrop was for the play Grease, 3 years later, it was time to move on but oh what a wonderful experience.
There were workshops, art lessons and mostly self taught lessons in seeing, drawing, color and techniques that increased my artistic abilities.
In 1989 we moved to Eau Gallie FL where I became a part of the artist community. I was a member of the Strawbridge Art League, Central Brevard Art League, Art and Antique Studio Gallery and I built a studio onto our house. In the Pink House Studio I began another career, I became a oil painting teacher. I have been teaching art since 1995.
In 2009 I moved to New Port Richey, FL to be near family, to seek new adventures, meet new artists and become involved with the arts on this coast. I have become a member of Progress Energy Art Gallery, Dunedin Fine Art Center, PAVA (Professional Association of Visual Artists) and ArtFaces/ArtPlaces an online gallery. I have started teaching in my studio, at the Dunedin Fine Art Center and Progress Energy Art Gallery. I am also a student at DFAC, learning to etch on copper plate. My goals when I moved here have come about and I look to future happenings, but no matter what, I will always be an artist.
